Getting crafty

I love a good project. If it’s sewing, cooking or planting I’m in! I had a weekend to myself while Conor was visiting a friend. I decided to change up our office area. I wanted to surprise Conor when he got home. I wanted it to be something bold like an accent wall. Originally I was going to try  wallpaper but changed my mind last minute.

I researched a bit online to get a few ideas. Then I went to the store to pick out paint and the tape. I watched a few videos on youtube to get inspiration.

Originally I was thinking this would take maybe a couple hours on Friday night. was I wrong. First I had to pick a color , without having Conor to weigh in on the choice. This was harder than I thought. I decided to go with a green blue color. After I got home I was ready to start. I started taping the edges of the wall, by the time that was done it was a little too late to start anything else.

The next day I woke up early, all eager to start. I spent most of the time measuring and laying out the tape for the pattern. Then I could go at it with the paint! I had to make sure not to get any on the floor. It was a little tricky since Thor (our cat) kept walking by.

My favorite part of this wall was ripping off the tape and seeing how it turned out. I stepped back and admired it! I really like the pattern and the color.

Conor got home from his trip and boy was he surprised. He really liked it. He feels like it makes the room look bigger and adds a little spark to our home!

Now he can help me hang some photos and art work to complete it.
