Happy Thanksgiving!

Usually we head to CT each Thanksgiving to spend time with our family but due to the pandemic we decided to stay home this holiday. It ended up being a lovely day. Finn and I planted flower bulbs around the patio. Planting flower bulbs this time of year is like burying presents that will be forgotten all winter. Come April/May we will be so surprised by the beauty and color when the garden starts waking up.

Our son Finn is now 4 years old. It was the first time I every asked him to run out and harvest something from the farm by himself. I handed him his saftey scissors and a colander and pointed him in the direction of the greenhouse where the cilantro is growing so we could add cilantro to our lunch. I was shocked when he returned five minutes later with perfect looking cilantro! He was very proud to do it all by himself too.

Then we went for a short hike. We collected pinecones for wreaths we will make in December. We enjoyed this beautiful view of the water.

We threw pebbles in to watch the calm ripples float across the water. We feel blessed to have our health and safety this year. It’s been a hard year with everything going on but we are lucky to be together and find joy every day. We hope you had a good Thanksgiving too!
