October fun!

Fall is the start of our favorite time of year!  The weather finally cools down, there’s so much to do and experience outside and of course it kicks off the holiday season with the dressup fun of Halloween!

One of our favorite places to visit is a local church’s pumpkin patch.  They have tons of different shaped, sizeed and colored pumpkins!  This year Cora opted for a baby one.  Daniel and I were both sure she was going to grab one of the pink options!  (she keeps us on our toes)

We went home and spent the evening on our back porch, eating dinner, having a mini dance party, playing ball with Molly & Abby and of course carving our creations!

Even Molly girl got in on the pumpkin action!  She had never seen a pumpkin before and loved to play with (and eat) the googey insides!  Daniel and I joked, we may have our own pumpkin patch in the back yard next year thanks to Molly! haha

Something new and fun this year was we got to experience “drive in” movies at our church on Friday nights!  It was such a fun experience to watch some of our favorite Classic Disney movies with our girl.  We’d all bring our lawn chairs, picnic dinner and spend time together.  It was a great way to wind down from the craziness of a busy week and spend time focusing back in on each other with our community.

This year we weren’t really sure what to do for Halloween costumes since Cora is really starting to develop her own opinions and we wanted to do something she’d love.  Every day in October we’d ask her what she wanted to be for Halloween and every day we got a different answer.  Sometimes she wanted to be a painter, others a princess (Elsa, Anna, Cinderella all the princesses were in the table) and she also wanted to be a cowgirl (like last year) with her horsey.  For her Haloween dance performance, she ultimately went with her big, poofy, pink princess dress.  She tapped her little heart out and soaked up the spot light!

For Halloween, it was a close call, but she finally decided on Elsa, and wanted Mommy to be Anna and Daddy, Olaf.  We did our best to make it happen.  Noone knew who we were supposed to be, but she did and loved every second of it.  Our neighborhood did a great job of letting the kids have fun but keept trick-or-treating socially distanced and safe!

We are so excited to see what November brings our way.  It is a month where we reflect, spend time with family and truly thank The Lord for all the blessings in our life!
