Our Weekend

We are enjoying our down weekends while we can. Here soon we get really busy. This weekend we had a good mix of doing things around the house and relaxing. We are currently working on a 1,000 piece puzzle. It’s a lot! We did this puzzle as an adoption fundraiser. Now all we have to do is put it together. It’s going slow, but good. I’d say we’re about 25% done.

Alec enjoys his computer and hanging out in his home office. He got a chance to do that this weekend. While he did that I tried to make a few new things in the kitchen. I really enjoy trying new foods whether it’s baking or cooking. Saturday I tried making fafel for the first time. I think once I get the other components of the meal it’ll be really good! And it was super easy. Sunday I really got out of my comfort zone and attempted to make bagels from scratch. I’ve made homemade bread, but I have a bread maker that does all the work. Not this time! This time it was all me. Surprisingly, they turned out! As you can see in the photo, they may be different sizes, but they were still good! It’s those little things that we enjoy doing on a free weekend.

Sunday was our day to serve at the church we attend. We are “coffee-crafters.” Sounds fancy. We brew the coffee and lay out all the coffee things. Creamer, teas, hot water, the list goes on. It’s our way of getting involved. We have really started diving in, and so far we love it! Sunday we also got snow….I guess the good thing is that we didn’t get too much. I’m trying to step back and enjoy the snow. I’m trying. It is really pretty though. We live on the city/county line so right behind us is a little row of trees. It’s really pretty covered in snow. One time we even saw a couple of deer!
