Thanksgiving (November 2019)
This year we headed to Jim’s sister’s house in Ohio to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. Jim’s sister was happy to host us all in her beautiful new home! Cooking and baking for Thanksgiving are part of the family tradition. Together with our nieces, we baked many different kinds of pies—pumpkin, apple, cherry, and pecan. While the turkey is cooking in the oven, we played card games and made up new games with the kids. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for 18 people. Afterwards, we did karaoke and everyone had a delightful time singing along and watching the kids perform their favorite songs!
The day after Thanksgiving, the whole family went to the A Christmas Story House where Ralphie’s house was filmed. Across the House was the museum which had props, memorabilia, and costumes from the movie.
The following day, we took our nieces to see Frozen 2. They had a great time seeing Elsa, Anna, Sven, Olaf, and Kristoff again since the first movie came out six years ago.
Overall, it was a wonderful and special Thanksgiving celebration. We are ever grateful for all the blessings we received this year and for being able to get together with our loved ones.
