About Brittany

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a mother. Though I had many different visions of what my life would look like, motherhood was the one aspect that never waivered.

I grew up in a home without a lot of stability. To say there were a lot of trying times would be an understatement. I grew up alongside my two sisters (one older, one younger) and we were very close. We moved A LOT. My mother had joint custody of us, but my parents were recovering addicts, and my mom relapsed often. It was difficult to deal with, and I always vowed to do better for my own children.

After high school, I attended community college and found a great job working in a hospital close to my home. Married at 21, I struggled with infertility. When we did finally conceive after countless fertility treatments, we were hit with many challenges, including losing one of our twins at 14 weeks along.

We eventually welcomed a beautiful baby girl and a year later, found ourselves unexpectedly pregnant again with our beautiful son. Despite the joys of having our children and trying our best, we eventually decided that divorce was the best choice for our family. Thankfully, my wonderful support system of family and friends helped through those hard times. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

Many times I wondered why God allowed me to go through these trials and tribulations. I know now that He was shaping me into the woman he intended for me to be. Through my relationship with God, I realized that despite many hardships, He never left my side. God called me to be strong, kind, compassionate, loving, sweet, funny, and a wonderful wife and mom, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Becoming an adoptive mother would be a dream come true and a long-awaited blessing.
