I am dedicated, a hard worker, and extremely proud of who I have become. I have always wanted to be an educator, though it took me some time to find my calling. While I was working in early childhood education, I stumbled into special education and have never looked back.
Supporting students with special needs has been a passion of mine for about 10 years now. About two years ago, I decided to go back to school (again) and get a second master’s degree and certification in administration. I am happy to report that I am now the principal of a special education school, a job that I truly love. Working with students, staff and families is my passion.
I can honestly say I never thought I would have my own biological child; I truly love being a mom to C.J. Though, I would be lying to you if I said there weren’t difficult and challenging times, we always work through tough times with open communication and trust.
The relationship I have with my son is one that is completely different than how I was raised. I vowed as mom never to repeat the cycle, and through determination every day, I am the parent I always wanted to have. Becoming who I am as a person and as a mother has taken reflection and the desire to give my child the best. I have learned that I was made to be a mother, and I am so looking forward to welcoming another child to our family.
