About Jonathon by Katie

Jonathon is the kindest and most loving man I have ever known! I fell in love with his honesty and his affection for his family. I married him because I was impressed with his determination and his compassion as he talked about finding new ways to help patients with hearing loss while he earned a clinical doctorate at the University of Louisville and a Ph.D. at MIT. This experience was all the more impressive because Jonathon is the first person in his family to earn a Doctorate degree. Jonathon grew up on a farm in Kentucky, and he loves to tell stories about growing up there. He played with goats and had his own cow, and he still loves every hill and stream on that land. We daydream about building a small house there to spend more of the Summer with our families. 

Jonathon is passionate about his work discovering medicines to treat hearing loss, but he is even more committed to our family. Watching him be a Dad has been one of the greatest joys of my life. From the first moment, he was 100% involved in changing diapers and waking up at night, cuddling, and playing. Jonathon spends hours drawing and writing stories with Hugo. He makes up songs with him and sings in a ridiculously high rock-star voice. He is the kind of Dad who dresses up as a superhero to go to the movies or to a museum for weekly “Buddy Days” with our son. I am so excited about the opportunity to grow our family again through adoption because Jonathon is the best Dad I know!
