About Katie

I’ve wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I played “house” with my sister and remember telling my mother I was going to adopt a child one day. I grew up in a typical two-parent home with a younger brother and sister. My father was a firefighter and my mother worked on computers and they always showed us unconditional love. 

On Christmas Day 2015, our lives changed when my dad suffered a major stroke, and my mother became his caretaker. Her dedication to him through this hardship showed me the meaning of marriage, working through obstacles and hard times together. 

As I grew up, I spent my time pursuing education and earned my associates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and have always considered myself a “natural.” I am the type of educator who LOVES to work with the “most difficult student” and celebrates the little things. I truly belong in the classroom and love what I do. Professionally, I enjoy the challenging and ever-changing environment of a classroom. Right now, I spend my days teaching online and evenings eating dinner with my family and playing board or card games.

I can’t picture my life without Desere. I’ll never forget how hard she laughed during our first date. I am so excited to continue my life alongside her and get married once we can safely have a ceremony. We are eager to become parents to a little one and provide this baby with unconditional love and support.
