One thing that I want to get off my chest upfront: I am not a fan of talking about myself. Part of what drives me, both professionally and personally, is elevating others and empowering them to succeed. I grow and shine by helping others to find their spotlight and thrive,
Professionally, I am a software engineer who leads a team of analysts and developers. While I am the point person for the team, I make every effort to ensure that each person’s voice is heard and that they can grow their individual skillsets and learn how to present their ideas to a larger audience. We all get stronger by supporting each other. I am often “the face” of our various projects, but I strongly emphasize the importance of our team at every opportunity.
In the evenings, I work as a theater director at a local high school. For the past several years, I have worked with the students to explore their characters and gain confidence through live performance. I feel fortunate to have been part of a cultural shift at the school, where the students are learning to embrace and support one another.
This motivation for elevating and empowering others is a large part of why I want to be a father. I want to wrap this child in all my love and provide them with the support and guidance to discover who they are as people. I cannot wait to help a child investigate their interests, learn through experience, and become the best possible versions of themselves.
