LETTER ABOUT NICOLE

I remember meeting Nicky’s family for the first time. She is the oldest of her four younger siblings, and when I met them, the youngest was in fifth grade. For me, being the youngest in my family, younger siblings was a new experience. I watched Nicky engage with her siblings in a loving, caring, patient and attentive way. As she learned how to be the oldest, yet away at college, she managed that transition with grace and confidence, which proved to be at the core of her heart.

As a teacher who works with students with learning disabilities, cognitive impairments and those with Autism, these character traits that I mentioned put Nicky’s students at ease and enable them to succeed. As a mom, she humbles me daily. Her tender compassion, heart-filled love, and genuine faith propel our boys into the little men they are becoming.

Journeying the path of life with Nicky is joy upon joy.
