Carter And Kasia

Holidays and Traditions

We spend one or two weekends a month in our family’s country home about a two-hour drive from our apartment. It is our home away from home with lots of land, pretty views and a fireplace. We visit the amazing hiking trails nearby with our dog, Cora. In the winter, we pass the time by the fire, listening to music and reading a good book. When spring arrives, Kasia spends her time in her “Summer Studio” painting. We very much look forward to sharing all of this with our child!

Every Easter we go to the Polish market to prepare for the traditional Easter breakfast. The food is delicious! We also bring our Easter baskets to our church to be blessed. We treasure this time of the year with our family.

July Fourth is another great tradition for us. We pack up the car and head south to the coast to be with our cousins. We swim, we eat and take in the beauty as the fireworks light up the sky.

Christmas is one of the most special traditions in our family. We spend it in Carter’s grandparents’ beautiful, old house in the Virginia countryside. The home and its land are a source of joy and togetherness. We cook, we laugh and we dance! Every Christmas Eve we all gather in front of the fireplace to hang stockings and read “The Night Before Christmas”. We truly love being together and know that our child will be loved and welcomed by the many aunts, uncles, cousins and dogs that gather for this special time.
