After a few years of apartment living, we were very excited to move into our first home a few years ago. It is a traditional, brown-bricked two-story house that we enjoy filling up with guests for all sorts of events. Our neighborhood is set in a lovely, quiet corner of town, close to friends and family, and it is even within walking distance to a hiking and biking trail we love.
One of the things that first drew us to our house was the large yard. We knew right away we wanted to eventually build a fire pit for smores and hot dog roasts and a playground fort for future children. We set about building the firepit right away and enjoy it frequently, and we are very excited to build the fort when the time is right. Inside the house, some of our favorite spaces are the library we built in the upstairs loft (Jennifer considers it a fun challenge to fill the shelves with books as soon as possible) and the open kitchen where we enjoy cooking and listening to music while we work.
With the location of our neighborhood being on the border of four great cities we are close to all sorts of activities, parks, and great places to eat. Some of our favorite spots are the local parks where we go for walks or just to throw a baseball around, and a few local restaurants that make fabulous breakfast food for early morning dates.
