One of the traditions that will remain for many years to come is the tradition of visiting Jerzy’s parent’s home, which is located next to a lake. We take many trips there each year, which is easy because it is not too far outside of Chicago. We enjoy keeping the house and landscape in good shape, and it also helps give us a good workout. There are many fun things to do at the lake, such as picking fruits from the trees, veggies from the garden, and taking walks on the paths along the lake. During the summer, we like to go swimming and boating and always try to build a campfire in the evening to sit around. The home is perfect for family visits all year round and we love taking our friends there.
Some of our other traditions:
Getting together with our immediate families for holidays (Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving)
Fourth of July at Jerzy’s parent’s home
Spending the weekend after Labor Day with Casey’s family
Visiting Jerzy’s brother’s family for Memorial Day weekend
Painting Easter eggs with Casey’s little cousins
A trip in autumn to see the changing tree colors and visit an apple orchard
