Karen’s Story
I was raised in Pennsylvania, just five minutes away from Tom. I grew up working at a local flower shop and waiting tables at Applebee’s. I’ve always been a Disney fanatic, and went to Disneyworld with my family almost every other year as a kid. I am still super close with all of my family members, and now Tom’s family too!
I spent most of my early adult life working as a dancer/aerialist. I worked for cruise ships, Tokyo Disney Sea (a total dream come true!), and in magic shows around the globe. I’ve lived in Japan twice (I love Japanese arcades!) and I will always miss it there, but New York City is truly my home.
In 2010, I transitioned into teaching fitness classes and have had a lot of fun teaching at boutique gyms in the city. Sometimes, there will even be the occasional celebrity in class! My personal favorite was Dylan Lauren since she gave me a pair of leggings from her store, Dylan’s Candy Shop.
While I still teach on occasion, I now spend more time working from home as a transcriptionist. I’m so excited to become a stay-at-home mom someday. I know that it will come with its challenges, but my playful self looks forward to the daily interactions with a child as they grow and mature.
