Meet Mike

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, I am the youngest of four. Growing up, our house was filled with music, laughter, lots of board games and even more books. I’ve always wanted to understand how things worked, so I spent a lot of time reading, taking things apart and sometimes actually putting them back together correctly. My childhood was this amazing mix of exploring my neighborhood, playing whatever sport was in season and working to learn something new. I’ll work hard to give a child those same experiences.

Growing up in a small town was great for a somewhat shy kid, but that meant I didn’t realize how big the world really was until I was well into adulthood. Twenty years as an engineer has allowed me to work on problems in many different places. I also take every chance I can to travel and explore new places. I’m lucky that Jessica also loves to travel. We can’t wait to make learning about different places and different cultures a part of what makes us a family.
