My Family

There are many different types of families, “traditional” families, families with two moms, two dads, one dad, or even a grandmother mama. The thing that all these families have in common is the love they share for one another.

I grew up with parents who supported me unconditionally. My father was a kind man who taught me the value of hard work and honor. I remember cheating in a game of Clue against him as a child. When he discovered I had cheated, he was gentle with me and we talked about integrity and honesty. My mother teaches me every day that family comes first. As a child, she encouraged me to always help others. My sister, who doubles as my best friend, has taught me about raising children with love and compassion. I know she will be my biggest supporter as a mother. Lastly, my brother has taught me the value in leaning on and supporting others.

We are a tight-knit family who spends a lot of time together, playing board games, dice games, and card games. Some of our favorite family activities include fishing, hiking, and camping. I remember a lot of laughter growing up. I hope to share many laughter-filled days with this child!
