Our Family

We’re lucky to be close to all of our family. Katy’s parents and sister both still live nearby where she grew up. Taylor’s sisters all live within 30 minutes around Indianapolis, and his parents are only an hour away near a small town. Both of us have really wonderful, supportive parents, who are looking forward to more grandchildren. They’re so supportive of our decision to adopt Marjorie and pursue another adoption now!

We love knowing that a child will grow up so close to all their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! We already have three nieces and two nephews, ranging in age from 6 months to 10 years, with another baby on the way. Our siblings are in a phase of growing their families too, so we’re all excited to have lots of cousins that are close in age!

Each year we take a family trip to Lake Cumberland to boat, swim and play games. Christmas is a favorite holiday in both of our families – we spend the whole day together, eating, opening presents, playing games, and enjoying each other’s company. We have a lot of childhood memories from vacations and the Christmas season, and we look forward to celebrating building our own traditions as a family.
