Our Family

We were both raised in very close families. Growing up, our families were extremely supportive. They would come to cheer us on no matter what we were doing. As parents, we plan to follow in our families’ footsteps and prioritize family and togetherness. We cannot wait to support and encourage this child, just like our families encouraged us. 

Our whole family is very excited about our adoption plan and for another child to join the family. We feel so lucky to live close to both sides of our family. Josh’s parents live in the same town as us and his brother’s family is just 15 minutes away. Katey’s mom lives 30 minutes away and Katey’s three siblings are not too far either! It’s so nice to have everyone so close, as we can have family get-togethers and everyone from both sides can attend. No matter whose birthday it is, we all go out to eat to celebrate.

For Christmas each year, we get together with all of our family plus Katey’s extended family. Most often, we host the holiday festivities at our house! We enjoy taking our nieces and nephews on adventures every chance we get. We also have two dogs that are our family, Buddy and Ally. They go almost everywhere with us. They are around all of our friend’s kids and nieces and nephews regularly and love playing with them! We know they will make great companions for this child.
