Our Family

Family is a very big part of our life…literally. We both come from large families. Valleen has three siblings, and Tim has four. Then, when you consider aunts, uncles, and cousins…let’s just say both sides are growing exponentially! We have 19 nieces and nephews ranging from 6 months to 11 years old.

While we live closer to Tim’s family and definitely see them more often, we are still very close with Valleen’s family in Colorado. We cherish any time we get to see or spend with them. We have a very close-knit and supportive family that surrounds us.

Tim’s older sister has been a vital support for us in our adoption journey. All three of her children have been adopted and her different experiences have varied greatly, so her wisdom and advice are greatly appreciated by us. It has been wonderful and encouraging to see how her children are treated just like all of the other cousins. They are all deeply loved by their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents. That gave us great confidence in our journey to adopt knowing that child will be loved as truly ours. When we adopted Cooper we saw the same celebration and love from both of our families.

We have two dogs; Kara (11) lab/retriever mix and Annie (7) a terrier mix.
