Our Family and Friends

We both have very supportive families and friends; a child will immediately be supported by that network. Nicholas’ father and brother live right down the road and Jovan’s aunt and cousins live the next town over. We also both have friends within the community, including other couples with young children. 

Some of our friends in our support network are currently experiencing parenthood for the first or second time as we are on our adoption journey. Several neighbors are expecting babies in 2022, and we are excited to see our community grow. We have many people in our lives that will be considered honorary aunts and uncles. Many of our close friends are excited to be involved in the life of a child and be by our side as we become parents.   

We both have large extended families. Most of our cousins have children and are planning to have more. The holidays can get crowded with almost ten younger children playing while the cooks are in the kitchen getting everything prepared. It’s not just holidays though, it’s summer birthday barbecues, spring sports games, and fall board game nights. We spend a lot of time together as a family!

A child in our family will be immediately surrounded by cousins, family, and friends. There will be plenty of resources for us to use through others experiences and knowledge. We feel lucky and honored to have such a large support system and look forward to including all our family and friends as a priceless part of a child’s life.
