Our Family and Friends

Ryan’s parents and sister live in town and we celebrate birthdays and many holidays with them, sharing good food and playing games. They are VERY excited about being grandparents and an aunt and plan to spend a lot of time enjoying those roles.

Jamilah’s family is huge. She has several cousins who live nearby and many more in the Chicago area, where she grew up. Her five siblings are quite a bit older than her and among them have 12 kids, most of whom now also have kids. About half of her immediate family lives in the Chicago area and she visits them often. They travel to us for Easter and we often visit them for Thanksgiving. We also love to travel to visit other members of her family in California, Florida and Montana. 

Jamilah will continue to work part-time as a mom. For the limited times that childcare might be needed, our first choice is in-home care, but, if necessary, we will look at local daycare facilities. Our first choice for school is Montessori, however we also have nearby charter and public schools that we can explore based on what is best to meet this child’s needs.
