We moved to our home located in West Michigan in 2018 and we absolutely love our neighborhood! We share the neighborhood with 25 other families ranging from retired couples to young families. We trust a few high school girls near our home for occasional babysitting, and Caleb loves seeing them on our walks around the neighborhood. Beach days at the lake, biking along the trails, and visiting the zoos and museums nearby are all things we are looking forward to doing again in the months and years ahead with our little family.
Our large backyard backs up to some woods overlooking the river, where we spot families of deer almost every day. We feel so grateful for the balance that God gave us in finding a home that allows our kids to safely explore and interact with nature, while also providing community.
We continue to strive towards growing love and peace within our home. Sara does an incredible job of creating space that Caleb can safely explore and have lots of fun. One of his favorite activities is riding his bike in a circle around our main floor like a race track. Our sunroom off the back is an escape for Ryan and Sara. We have a wood-burning stove which becomes the central gathering space in the winter to warm up after playing in the snow in the backyard.
