We live in a single-family home on a tree-lined street in Maryland with our two Corgis, Nola and Gimli. Our large sun-filled second bedroom, which we like to refer to as the Harry Potter room, will be our child’s bedroom. It has a built-in play area under the eaves and an ornate fake fireplace that is perfect for hanging Slytherin and Hufflepuff banners over. We also have a big backyard full of flowers for a child to play in. We love how much sunshine fills our house during the day, especially in our favorite room, the sunroom. Even without the sunshine, it’s a cozy place to be at night, with multi-colored lamps and soft blankets on cozy couches.
We are blessed to live near several parks and playgrounds, with the nearest one less than a block away! We have friendly neighbors, including friends in the house behind us (our dogs are great friends). Our home is close to the Town Center, which holds festivals, concerts, and entertainment for kids. We often walk our dogs on the paths along nearby creeks and lakes, where there’s lots of wildlife and plants for a child to observe and explore. The nearby metro is within walking distance and provides us with easy access to adventures in D.C!
