We live in a really spacious apartment on the top floor of a beautiful pre-war building with an elevator. Our building was built in the 1920s, back when they made New York apartments big and spacious. Spencer used to be an interior designer and Ihnil is an architect, so one of our hobbies is buying furniture and art and creating a home that has a lot of our personality.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and sunny, and it’s filled with old Victorian homes with front yards that most people don’t even know still exist in Brooklyn. It feels like you’ve traveled in time. We love walking our dog in the evenings and deciding which old home is our favorite. We can’t wait to show a child the playgrounds, the cute local library, the ice cream shop, and all of the joys of Prospect Park—only a short walk away.
In 2016, we moved to Los Angeles for a change of scenery. However, three years later, we admitted to ourselves that we just didn’t love it—we were Brooklynites through and through. We don’t think that will ever change.
