Our Story

Hello, we are Alex and Hawa! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

We met in 2006 on our very first day of college at Ohio State. It was love at first sight for Alex, Hawa took some convincing. We started as friends and with some smooth-talking, Alex won Hawa over (It only took a few weeks!). We’ve been inseparable since.

After graduation, we started our careers. Hawa worked in finance while Alex started his own company. We were married on September 1st, 2012. Seeing both families come together as one (Hawa is from Somalia, while Alex is from a small town in Ohio) was one of the greatest moments in our lives. A few years later, we moved to New York City, where we currently live.

We knew we wanted children but soon found out that we weren’t able to have them biologically. So, we began our adoption journey, and on December 10th, 2021, our son Zain was born, changing our life forever. There’s no way to put into words how much Zain means to us and how much love there is in our family.

We’ve always planned for a large family, and we can’t express how grateful we are that you’re out there considering us as a fit.
