Our Home

We live in a beautiful historic two-story house. The fence around the property allows the boys the freedom to roam all over the yard safely. We have a fire pit, large sandbox, and swing set in the backyard. Our large side yard is home to our garden each summer, as well as the trampoline.

Our large, cozy living room has couches big enough for everyone to snuggle up for a movie, and a large farm style table that Nick made. Just off of the living room are our open kitchen and our school room. We call it the “sun room” since there are windows on every wall. The natural light that fills that particular room cheers us all up on the most gloomy of winter days. The basement isn’t finished (though that is on our goals list!). On rainy or cold days, we head down there for relay races, riding bikes, or roller skating. There is also a partially finished playroom.

Our town is just off of the highway. We have grocery stores and restaurants, without the hustle and bustle of big city life. We get to live in town with the perks of city utilities, multiple parks within walking distance and sidewalks, but it feels like country life out here. Our neighbors are kind and friendly, frequently chatting over the fence with the boys, and sharing yummy homegrown goodies from their gardens each summer. We purchased this house with the hope of staying put, God willing, for many years. Our home is filled with memories and so much joy.
