We are Justin and Emily. We are so grateful to share with you about our family. We are excited to grow our family through the gift of adoption, and we want you to know that a child’s birth mother will always be loved and honored in our home. We hope to adopt a baby girl to love and spoil!

Our story began in the summer of 2010. We met through mutual friends who had been trying to set us up for two years and once we finally met, we never looked back. We got engaged in December 2011 in New York City by the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza. Then, we married in September 2012 surrounded by family and friends.

We had our first miracle baby, Jace, in 2015. Then, we suffered another miscarriage in 2016 before we welcomed our second miracle, Jax, in 2017. Our boys have been an answer to so many prayers and we are so grateful to God for his faithfulness.

Financial Support

Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

How it started & how it’s going! 10 years ago to now!

12/02/2021

10 years ago tonight by my most favorite tree, the 74 foot Christmas Tree at The Rockefeller Center in New York City, Justin got down on one knee and it was the easiest “YES!” I’ve ever given! Two kids from small-town Alabama in the middle of the big city with a lifetime ahead of them! We could have never dreamed all that lay ahead. The amazing times…The hard times…and everything in between. In so many ways that night feels like yesterday, but also a lifetime ago. For years we celebrated this night with fancy dinner dates but these days…these are the ones that are our favorites. We spent the day Christmas shopping for our boys and ended it at our town’s Christmas parade with friends, eating pizza on the tailgate. Here are some pictures from our fun night 10 years ago and some from tonight! The boys’ elves even got to tag along. Here’s to the first of (I’m sure) many Christmas blogs. Christmas is our FAVORITE!

Hosting Thanksgiving

12/02/2021

This was our first year hosting family at our home for Thanksgiving! Before this year we have always gathered at my grandparents' house but when we offered this year they happily agreed! We had such a great time catching up and watching the kids play in the back yard! There was tons of food, laughter, and fun! Two dishes that everyone looks forward to every year are my nana's Dressing & her Chocolate Pie. I was excited to be trusted taking over these recipes this year! We were able to catch everyone up on where we are in the adoption process and we prayed over our future expectant mama and baby. We have so much to be thankful for and are happy to give a small peak into what holidays look like around here! We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones!
