Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and get to know us. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share our story with you, and we recognize the strength, love, and thoughtfulness it takes to consider an adoption plan.

Our story began in high school when we were introduced by a mutual friend. What started as a friendship grew into something special. While our first ten years came with challenges as our relationship was long distance due to schooling and work, it strengthened our communication, trust, and commitment to one another in a lasting way.

In 2016, we became engaged and welcomed our first dog into our family, which was an exciting milestone for us. We were married in 2017, and spent time building our life together before deciding to grow our family. After years of trying to conceive, we went through multiple IUI and IVF attempts, and although those paths were unsuccessful, they deepened our desire to become parents and led us to adoption.

Adoption has become a hopeful and meaningful next step for us. We are excited for the possibility of welcoming a child into a home filled with love, laughter, and steady support.

If I had to describe Michael in a few words, I would say he is smart, funny, caring, and dependable. He has a way of making people feel comfortable and valued, and he brings warmth and humor into everyday life.

He takes great pride in his work and enjoys completing projects around the house, always finding satisfaction in creating and improving things. He loves going camping, reading comics, watching sports, and sharing those interests with others. Whether he is following a game, working on a project, or relaxing at home, he brings enthusiasm to what he is doing.

He is incredible with our dog and is very loving, gentle, and protective of our pets. Seeing the way he interacts with them gives me a strong sense of the kind of father he will be. One of the clearest glimpses of his future as a dad is how he is with our nephew; he’s patient, playful, and fully engaged. He is not afraid to be silly, and children naturally feel comfortable around him because of his kindness and sense of fun. More than anything, he leads with love, and I know he will bring patience, encouragement, and support into fatherhood.

If I had to describe Ashley in a few words, I would say she is loving, supportive, driven, but most importantly, I’d say she is strong, in every sense of the word. Her ability to stay positive and hopeful throughout our journey so far was what we both needed at times.  

Ashley takes great pride in her ability to problem solve the issues ahead of her. Whether it’s something at work or home, once she can identify the problem, she’s able to turn it around. 

She loves to read, paint, or do anything crafty, and likes to stay active by taking the dogs for a walk, doing yoga, and attending church events with friends. More than anything, Ashley loves to host our family and friends.  Some of her favorite times of the year are when we have gatherings at our house. That’s when she’s able to ensure that everyone is well fed, happy, comfortable, and they know they’re taken care of while here. 

She is incredible with our dog; it’s because of her desire to ensure their comfort that we have a king size bed! Ashley leads with love and care, and I know she will continue to lead that way for the rest of her life. This care is shown every time she spends time with our nephew or our friends’ children. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be the most loving and caring mother to a child.

Our home is a beautiful two-story house in a welcoming suburban neighborhood. We love that the community offers the best of both worlds—close to schools, parks, and shopping, while still feeling quiet and peaceful.

One of the features that drew us to our home is the fenced-in backyard. It is a space we truly enjoy, whether we are spending time outside, hosting family and friends, or simply relaxing together by a fire. It is a place filled with comfort and connection. Inside, our home has an open layout that makes it easy to gather and spend time together. We love hosting holidays, celebrations, and casual get-togethers with the people we care about most.

Our neighborhood has become more vibrant over time, with many young families moving in. One of our favorite times of year is Halloween, when children come trick-or-treating and the neighborhood feels full of excitement and community.

Most importantly, our home is a place where people feel welcome. It is filled with warmth, laughter, and support, and we look forward to sharing that with a child.

Family is one of the most meaningful parts of our lives, and we feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by love and support.

We live close to Michael’s brother and his family, making it easy for us all to share in each other’s daily lives and milestones. Watching our nephew grow has been a true joy for us. His parents live a bit farther away, but we make it a priority to see them once a month. Ashley’s family lives a few states away, unfortunately, so we do not see them as often as we’d like to, but when we can, our time together is always enjoyable and deeply valued.

Considering that several family birthdays fall around the holidays, we often celebrate together, which has created traditions that are especially important to us. These moments are full of laughter, connection, and togetherness.

We are also fortunate to have close friends who have stood beside us through every step of this process and will act as honorary aunts and uncles, showing the child just as much love and support as we will.  

Throughout our adoption journey, our families have been incredibly supportive and excited for us. A child joining our family will be surrounded by people who love them, support them, and are eager to be part of their life.

In our free time, we enjoy a balance of going out and staying in. We like trying new restaurants, attending sporting events, and enjoying seasonal activities like ice skating and camping, but some of our favorite moments happen at home. We enjoy relaxing together by playing games, going on walks with our dogs, or sitting outside by a backyard fire. These simple moments are important to us as they allow us time to appreciate everything.  

We also enjoy our individual hobbies — Michael enjoys video games and working in the garage, while Ashley enjoys crocheting and making homemade treats for the dogs. We value having our own interests while still sharing plenty of time together.

We love spending time with friends through shared activities like game nights and bonfires to events like Comic Con. In the winter, we host our annual white elephant party and, in the summer, our Fantasy Football owners’ meeting. These gatherings are full of laughter and connection, and the occasional Monopoly piece being thrown across a room.

We are flexible in how we spend our time and prefer not to overschedule everything. We are happiest when we have a general plan and the freedom to go with what feels right in the moment.

We have dreamed of becoming parents for a long time, and after everything we have experienced, we still have the desire and hope to be able to grow our family. We look forward to everyday moments like laughing with a child, guiding them, comforting them, and simply being present through all stages of their life.

We know that we are not perfect people, and we will not pretend to be perfect parents. Like any family, we will learn as we go. What we can promise is that the child will always be safe, deeply loved, supported, and reminded every day that they matter. We will provide a home filled with patience, laughter, stability, and encouragement, surrounded by a strong extended family and a caring community.
