Thank you for taking time to learn about our family. We hope this profile will give you a glimpse of who we are and what is important to us. We are excited about the opportunity to grow our family and share our adoption story with family and friends.

We admire your decision to make an adoption plan for your child and would be honored to be a part of that plan. We feel like we are at the point in our lives where we are ready to start growing our family. The most important thing is that the child is happy and healthy - and we will do anything to ensure that he or she grows up in a loving environment. We are both excited about little league games, dance recitals, and family vacations, but it is the little things that we are looking forward to the most. Life is all about sharing those moments (movies, bedtime stories, and family game night) with the people you love.

We met seventeen years ago when we were both attending the same university. Jason graduated in 2003 and Laura graduated the following year. Laura learned everything she needed to know about Jason the first time he visited campus after graduation. Instead of meeting up with friends, he stayed in to help her complete an activity for her student teaching placement. He was immediately captivated by her sense of humor and selflessness - she was and is always willing to put others before herself.

We share many interests and began going to family events, concerts, and baseball games together. Every Tuesday night, we would cook dinner together, which became affectionately known as “Tasty Tuesday.” We were together for five years before getting married in 2012. We were honored that our parents and siblings participated in the wedding ceremony. We continue to have a great relationship with our immediate families. Every year we go on a family vacation with our parents, siblings, and nephews. 

A few months after we were married, we moved into our three-bedroom house. Every year we host Thanksgiving for our family, as well as other gatherings for family, friends, and neighbors. We enjoy playing games, watching movies, and taking long walks with our dog, Bennett, who absolutely loves our six nephews. We have a strong relationship that has only gotten stronger through our shared experiences. We hope to share those experiences and the love we have for one another with a child.

I grew up on Long Island with my two older brothers and many family pets. My mother stayed home with us until I was eight, and then went back to work as a teacher. My father worked long hours at his jewelry store. We would often spend evenings and weekends at the store, so that we could spend more time together as a family. My childhood was spent with family and friends, and I enjoyed dancing, bike riding, and reading.

Family has always been very important to me. I was fortunate to grow up close to my four grandparents. We celebrated Passover each year at our grandparent’s house, a tradition I look forward to continuing with a child and my parents. Chanukah was a time for dreidels and latkes (which Jason now loves!).

As the daughter of a teacher, I spent many hours playing school. I currently work as an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a local school district. For me, this has made my childhood dream come true. I love interacting with the students daily and seeing the impact that I have made on past students.

In my spare time, I love scrapbooking, crafting, decorating for holidays, and spending time with our six nephews. Traveling is also a big part of our lives, either visiting family or on vacation. Jason married into a Disney family. I can’t wait to share wonderful experiences with a child, like we have been fortunate to do with our nephews.

I grew up in a small town in upstate New York with my parents and older sister. I was very active in school and the community. During the school year, I played on the varsity soccer and tennis teams; sang in the varsity choir; played violin in the orchestra; and was an active member of the local youth group and Boy Scout Troop. In the summer, I enjoyed exploring the woods behind my house, riding my bike, and playing with other kids in the neighborhood. 

After graduating from college, I began working for an architecture firm in upstate New York. I have been with the firm for 16 years. As a licensed architect, I am passionate about improving the lives of people around me through creative problem solving.

I still like to play tennis, but also enjoy a round of golf with friends. The colder months are perfect for playing my guitar and working on my many hobbies. I also love to tell jokes - the corny ones are the best!

The value my parents placed on community service continues to impact my life in a very positive way. I served on the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors for eight years. During that time, I was involved in fundraising and the construction of several houses. I also served on the Board of Directors for the WAIT House (Homeless Youth Shelter) for eight years. I am anxiously awaiting my next challenge and hope to share it with a future child.

Knowing that we wanted to have a family, we purchased a three-bedroom house on a quiet street in a great school district. Our house has a big backyard that is perfect for kickball games, barbeques, and roasting marshmallows around a bonfire. Our neighborhood is full of kids! Every day we see them riding bikes by our house or playing in their yard, which has only made our desire for a family even greater.

Our house is located between two summer tourist destinations, which both have great local shops, restaurants, and activities for kids. We are also a few hours from New York City and Boston, which we regularly visit for baseball games, concerts, and weekend getaways.

We truly appreciate you choosing to read our profile. We are a loving family that is ready to adopt. We are committed to providing a stable and supportive environment that will allow a child to grow up happy, healthy, and kind.
