Corona, kitten and visits

Here in The Netherlands (like the rest of the world) there are still a lot of regulations to stop Corona. We have to avoid crowded places and work from home where possible. We both have office jobs, are they enabled us to work from home. During the first months of Corona the entire week, but now a few days at the office. That’s nice everyone needs contact with college’s and friends and being back at the office feels like a first step. We are happy to say that we both are still healthy.

Like we mentioned before we have a kitten ‘Gwen’ that got us through the lonely Corona times and is 23 weeks old now. Together with ‘Mila’ our 7 year old cat they are running around the house and play with whatever they can find. It’s cute to see that she has some favorite toys that she gathers under the dresser. To get away from all the fuss our older cat is outside a lot. The kitten is also a real cat and has the sleeping part under control. She likes to cuddle next to Olivier at night and purrs until she falls asleep.

Our niece of 13 visited 4 weekends to watch all the Star Wars movies (Episode I through IX and the Star Wars stories). Olivier is a fan of Star Wars and because she loves Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings we thought she had to see them. It was a lot of fun with candy during the movie and fries in the evening. After the movie we played some board games and when we dropped her off at her parents she wanted to  plan a new date straight away. Her 10 year old brother games a lot on his switch. Minecraft and Fortnite are his games. Donny really likes a Dinosaur simulation game called ‘Jurassic Park Evolution’ and she showed him on the Xbox, Olivier played Fortnite with him. Also a great weekend. 

In the meantime when Olivier was playing Fortnite with his nephew, Donny was practicing her new hobby ‘Paint by number’. She has completed 3 paintings (60×40) already. We have some empty walls in our home and we like to give them some color with these paintings.

Now the summer is over it’s time to take some vacation days. Because we don’t have kids, we give our college’s the room to take some time off during the summer break. So now it’s our turn. We planned late, because of Corona and the changing regulations of every country in Europe. It was too uncertain for us to plan ahead. We decided to stay in The Netherlands this year and drive to some nice museums and national parks.
