It is such a blessing to have a child who loves to read. When it comes to books, our son cannot get enough. It is a blessing but also a challenge. We live three blocks from a public library – that has been closed for almost a year in these trying times. So we’ve created a system to get new books. First, we’ve bought a lot of books. We’ve been supporting a local bookstore when we purchase books recommended by friends and family members. I also belong to a local mom group that has a marketplace and I often purchase second hand books from this great resource. Second, many of our neighbors host Little Free Library boxes. We often borrow books from these generous neighbors. Finally, we swap books with other moms and friends. It’s been a very positive way to stay connected with friends. So now we have a robust library in place with well loved books to be enjoyed again and again.
