Dinosaurs!
Stafford is really into Dinosaurs right now so we wanted to take him to Dinosaur National Park to see the dinosaur bones. Ava loves rocks and fossils so she was also really excited to go. Elsha is always just excited to go anywhere, haha. Staffords favorite part was the outdoor exhibit at the museum where they have life size dinosaur models. He was so excited he couldn’t stop running. He zoomed around the circle as fast as he could yelling and pointing “Look at that one! And that one! And that one!” He was pretty dissapointed that he couldn’t ride one, lol!
Ava loved going on all the hikes. She found some great rocks and fossils (we didn’t bring any home as per the rules). She’s quite the little hiker. We went on a little hike from the camp ground just her and I and that was her favorite. She worked really hard on her Jr. Ranger book as well and was so, so excited to get her pin. Stafford and Elsha enjoyed doing their books as well.
We are so proud of Elsha because she walked and walked and walked. We usually have to carry her more, but she’s growing up and getting stronger! She was completely exhausted the next day though and refused to walk on our hike so Allan carried her in the hiking carrier. Her favorite part was playing in the tent. She was so excited when we set it up she kept saying “Tent! Sleep! Tent! Sleep!”. Elsha made some friends with the elderly women in the site next to us as we were packing up. She’s a sweetie, so curious, and loves people. Stafford ran over to assist her and they had a great time talking to the ladies telling them all about the dinosaurs.
Our kids are great travelers so Allan and I had a great time talking to each other on the long car rides while the kids entertained themselves in the back. This is something I love most about our relationship. We can (and do) talk to each other about anything and everything. We don’t always have the same view which makes our conversations more interesting. Allan tends more toward logic and I tend to lean more toward emotion. It’s always interesting to see where our conversations lead when we take both into account.
