Family Fun

The last couple of months have been a blast, and extremely busy!

We celebrated Elsha’s and Allan’s birthday’s. We got Elsha a balance bike. While trying it out she tipped over. We were worried that she’d hurt herself and then never want to try it again, but she just jumped up and said “Oh! I need my helmet!”, got her helmet, and jumped back on!

Went to a family reunion where Ava learned to ride a 4 wheeler, and we all enjoyed sliding down the water slide! We’re so grateful to live close enough to our family that we can do fun things like this!

Went to Ava’s birth grandma’s wedding! It was beautiful. We’re so grateful to be a part of their family. We love spending time with them and being there for those important events. Ava loved every minute of it!

Went to Allan’s brothers wedding. Their venue had a park and a castle so the kids LOVED it! We a had a blast, and are so grateful to have a new Auntie – who is just genuinely a kind a beautiful person! The first time we met her she and Allan’s brother played with the kids while I cleaned up a poopy mess. (Ug, potty training) The kids loved her so much they didn’t want her to leave!

Celebrated Independence Day and Pioneer Day. We love going to community events like this. Our kids enjoyed all of the bouncy houses, riding the trains, and picking out a homemade treat at the bake sales. I always love seeing the talent shows (or listening from afar, haha!) And everyone loves the parades! Allan and our brother-in-law went on a backpacking trip over Pioneer Day, so Aunt S and their son came to stay the night and went to the parade and carnival with us. We really enjoyed having them there.

Spent some time at the lake kayaking, swimming, and playing in the sand. We love that we’re surrounded by lakes, reservoirs, and ponds! It’s so nice that we have so many choices for recreation. The kids took turns practicing paddleing the kayaks, they’re getting better and better at it.

And we got our house hooked up to the city sewer system (it was on a septic tank). Allan’s been working hard moving the sprinkler system, cleaning up the dirt from where they dug the trench, trimming up the tree that took some damage from the work, etc. The kids have LOVED playing all the mud. Gratefully they’ve been really good about remembering to clean up with a hose outside before they come in. I’ve found them outside completely covered in mud several times! Hahaha!
