Father’s Day Fun

Celebrating Father’s Day is one of our favorite things to do. We get to spend time with Paul celebrating what a good, attentive, and fun father he is. Solomon loves bringing presents to him throughout the day. Every year we get paul some “dad-gear” along with an updated framed footprint and handprint of Solomon’s. This year his “dad-gear” was water guns and water ballons, and of course a water fight in the yard was quick to follow. It was too wet of an event to take pictures!

We also celebrated Juneteenth, Jubilee Day! We had fun making strawberry cupcakes and taking them to friends all over town. Solomon loved handing out cupcakes and saying “Jubileeeee” to everyone. We talked about why we celebrate Jubilee day and how our fight for equality is not yet over even though enslavement has ended; how we will continue to speak out, educate, and fight for the rights of people of color in America. It was a fun day, and Solomon ate more cupcakes than I can count!
