Our Journey to Adoption

“Lord, we are here.  Our family is ready. “

Many years ago, I felt the Lord open my eyes see birth moms and adoption in a differnt light.  I was volunteering with an organization that cared for at risk teen moms.  My church hosted these young moms and I helped organized childcare so they could enjoy a meal and a Bible study while their babies were cared for.  As I got to know these brave moms and their children, my heart started to feel burdened for other moms around the world who didn’t have a support system or resources needed to parent their children.  My eyes were openned in a greater way to see the pain that many moms were processing while hoping to make a plan for their babies.  That’s when my husband and I said “We are ready Jesus”.  

We started praying 10 years ago about adoption.  Each year, we waited to see if their was a child God wished to graft into our family.  During the summer of 2020, we finally felt the Lord say “now” and we began our journey to adoption.  We don’t take this process lightly and our hope is to not only welcome a son into our family, but to tell him about his brave mom and a big God who loves them both.
