STORMS & FRUIT TREES

First off sorry it’s been a while since I’ve reached out to blog. It’s bit crazy and I honestly haven’t had time to think about blogging. We just survived the wind storm of a lifetime. I guess Davis County, UT was hit the hardest with 90+ mile an hour winds from the storm last week. We lost one of our big trees and our electricity for 2 1/2 days but luckily we lost nothing that can’t be replaced.  All of the neighbors stood together cleaning up fallen trees. Luckily we didn’t loose our peach tree…I look back now that summer is over and fall has begun I wanted to share about one of our favorite parts of summer…that is about our peach tree and blackberry bush.

So,
we have quite a few fruit trees/bushes in our backyard.  First to bear fruit is the blackberry bush
that wraps around the back of our house. In July we start finding many ways to
eat them including plain right off the bush, on a salad, on top of vanilla ice
cream, in a shake, or even in blackberry pie. The blackberries in our yard are
so much sweeter than the ones you can buy at the store. Then the peach tree
blooms and starts to ripen in August. We like to eat those fresh off the tree,
in a smoothie, on vanilla ice cream, in a shake, or in peach cobbler. Those
peaches melt in your mouth with deliciousness. We would love to share them with
you someday.
