We just got back from Kentucky because Andrewâs sister Abbey got married! We had such a great time with family!
We traveled from Denver on Tuesday with Andrewâs parents and his sister Annie. Andrew was exhausted because he had worked Monday night into Tuesday morning and then we had to go to the airport when he got home. I assume this kind of sleep deprivation is just getting him ready for parenthood! We had a quick dinner with the bride and groom at their house and turned in early.
Wednesday Andrewâs other sister, Adrienne and her husband Drew and their 9 month old son Felix arrived. We all took a tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery which had a lot of really neat history on the tour! For the drive to the tour, Abbeyâs fiancé, Brian took us through the part of Kentucky where all the beautiful horse farms are – wow! So beautiful with the green rolling hills, beautiful homes, and horses out grazing. That night everyone was at our Airbnb, including Brianâs son, Caleb and we all got to hang out, play ping pong and cards.
The next day we had to get wedding serious, running errands, going to the rehearsal, and then rehearsal dinner. That night a bunch of Andrewâs family came in from Iowa and they are the most fun! Then came wedding day! Always a busy, hectic day but super fun!
Saturday we just hung around the house with all the family and Sunday it was time to head back home. Andrew, myself, his parents and Annie stopped at the Cincinnati Zoo before we had to go to the airport and it was great! Super beautiful zoo! I have been wanting to go there for a while to see Fiona the hippo. She is such a character – I recommend checking her out on YouTube if you donât know what Iâm talking about!
Our family time was so great and everyone was super supportive and inquisitive about our adoption journey! It will be so exciting to have a baby to share this beautiful family with!
