The initial meeting was very helpful, and we are happy with the final product. The process after that was frustrating at times. We waited to hear back from the first person about the letters and I got the feeling he forgot about us; it wasnât until after I emailed him at the 11th hour that we got any feedback about the writing. Similarly, the person who helped with layout and photos responded right away at first but then didnât meet the deadline he said he would meet and I had to reach out to him in order to get the feedback I was waiting for. Everyone we were in touch with was very kind. I realize that this is a very strange and difficult time for everyone so maybe that was the reason for the delays. You may also want to know that the automated emails made the process feel impersonal.

Clear guidelines for pictures and starting points for writing.
Every part ran smoothly.
The process was streamlined very well. It was nice to have it in a stepwise fashion and work with one person on the chapters/writing prior to moving onto the stories. The timeline for the chapters was very clearly laid out with a 35 business day turnaround time. When it came to the pictures and creating the proof, I felt that was a little less clear. It was said it would be done shortly which is vague and I didn't know when to expect it. However, the editing/approval process of the proof was super simple and the result was beautiful!
The offshore process was extremely frustrating they made several typos from what I had written and it took days to resolve each issue.
All the requests were thoroughly explained to us....meaning they told us why they made certain decisions and what exactly was needed on our end. This alleviated much ambiguity throughout the process.
Kim Noeth and Mark Hurt were extremely helpful during this process. They both went above and beyond their job description to ensure all questions were answered and any mishaps were taken care of. It was nice to be able to add the edits (photo changes, note changes, or letter changes) directly on the document. Then the edits were made by the next day so I could review again.
Honestly everything was very easy and everything was explained well.
There is a lot of information thrown at you. I was a little overwhelmed at first but when I started digging into it, it wasn't so much. I think it was because I was in the process of moving and I was unclear on how much time I needed to personally dedicate to the tasks. That's the only opportunity for more clarity on.

Overall it went well. There was a Slight Miscommunication.Hopefully in the future the editor will understand the following We bold and underlined the section to identify which area needed changing. Next revision we removed the bold. Person didnât catch or see the change although there was a post it over it. Person didnât make the change. It took an additional revision of us stating that we removed the bold. This took an extra round of review. That time delay lead to completion of profile on the following week.Overall we understand this can happen. Part of the process. Please have the reviewer ask for clarification and to look closely for changes This can avoid delays Overall she was responsive and timely in her response. Thank you

It was all extremely easy. I was intimidated at first but the process is down to a science and easy to get through.
I think your team did an amazing job. I was pleased with how quickly the process went. The Writer/Editor was great at making our words flow smoothly while keeping US in it.
It was good being able to get the perspective of a former birth mother during the writing process.
We had a glitch in creating our book. The proof was sent to us to approve or edit, we sent edits back but instead the proof was approved by an employee before the edits were made. We got an approval email and had to inform the staff they made and error and needed to fix our edits. Due to the approval the wrong book was mailed to the adoption agency. The staff did fix the error and communicate to the adoption agency that the wrong book was being mailed to them and to disregard.
Everyone was very helpful and very fast to responding to questions/concerns.

The entire process was easy and helpful! On our initial consult with Kim everything was clearly explained and the email recaps were very useful! Gina was equally clear and helpful in the writing process. Likewise the profile creation/revision process was seamless. We were thrilled with the entire process and final product.
It was clear who to communicate with about each step (online profile, book, video).I would say that there was almost too much communication. After our initial phone conversation, we received multiple lengthy emails (35) with crazy amount of detail. While this was helpful at times, it was also overwhelming. We struggled with managing and sifting through the mass of details to find what we were looking for.

There wasn't a spot for constructive criticism, so I thought I'd put it in here. From our angle, the communication was a bit challenging. The instructions given at the beginning came in multiple documents, and were not always consistent with each other (about runtime for each segment of the video, word counts, etc.). It was hard to know which instructions to follow.The camera sent was really subpar in terms of quality. It sounds like that one might get swapped out, anyways, but might be worth doing a sweep through the supply to make sure they're all working well.And we felt like we received a LOT of autogenerated emails that just sounded tone deaf to where we were in the process. Every morning, we would receive an email asking if we got a profile proof, even if we had responded that we had or had sent a question, etc. And these emails frequently came from individuals who we had had no contact with prior so it just came across as seeming a bit disorganized.

Iâve made my own profile book before so the fact that I could just provide the information and leave it in your hands was very helpful.
The profile draft reviewing process was MUCH improved from the last time we made our profile. The online system to make changes and send them to the team was GREAT. That was a wonderful change to make and it made the profile creation step go much smoother.Colin was great to work with again and was very timely on his edits.

Communication with the proof layout team was sometimes challenging, but not for lack of effort on their part. I think the PDF toolset needs further enhancing to allow them to respond to the changes a client requests. If Iâm requesting a change that is a big problem for the layout, they need a means of saying that rather than just ignoring the request.Also, the photo picker component of the eproof comment module is not functional, making photo selection and substitution harder than it should be.
Communication was prompt and consistent. Our feedback was welcomed through all of the editing (writing and profile). Website was easy to use. When there was an issue, it was addressed quickly.
Having someone help make my language for My story better, more concise.Note on Timeliness: We ran into trouble on what the agency wanted v. what Parentfinder made. I am not sure why this happened and was a bit frustrated but it being fixed.

Our first contact (Kim) was very helpful and explained the process very well. We then were passed to a person who worked on our profile layout who seemed less organized. We got conflicting messages on the timeline from the various messages. However, we really liked the end product, and I sensed he was trying to be helpful. Overall it was a positive experience.

The process and timelines were laid out clearly. Where there is room for improvement is in supporting the creation of the profile i.e. better guidance on what to include and how to get started. The framework was laid out, but it is overwhelming for a first time user and we could have used better coaching and assistance in how to begin to create a profile in our own voice. Email follow ups reminding us that we needed to get our profile done were not beneficial and just added to the anxiety. I used podcasts and our home study agency to get guidance. Once that was done the rest of the process ran smoothly. Mark Hurt is wonderful to deal with a good, quick communicator and he was a tremendous help.
Working with Colin was a wonderful experience. He is so very good at what he does. We also had a complication with the system and Mark was so helpful in getting it fixed for us. I loved how communicative he was each step of the way.

The part of the process that was the most cumbersome was the website where clients go online to review their draft Adoption Profile. Not all of the modification or add comment options were operable. This added unnecessary additional time to finalizing the profile. Instead we had to contact the web designers personally to make changes on our behalf. They were very prompt, but the delays were frustrating. Also, I believe our Adoption profile went Live before it's final approval from our Heart of Adoption point of contact Meredith Shepard. Changes needed to be made that included some important photo modifications for our privacy. Perhaps adjust how the Parentfinder POC Kim interfaces with the Heart of Adoption POC.
Gina was great with timelines and overall communication. Mark, did not communicate well at all. When Gina passed us off to the Design Team we didn't hear anything from him for a week. Then, I emailed to ask the status and he stated that they would be working on it soon and once they started we'd get an email. We heard nothing. A week went by, I emailed Mark again asking the status of our profile. He finally gets back to us and says the layout is in process and once our proof is generated we'll get an email. Our proof was generated within 24 hours of us emailing him to check the status. But, we had issues looking at it. He had to reset our link because it was shown as already approved. But when we actually got into our profile, we couldn't make any edits. (Luckily, everything looked good). The email delay was horrendous. I'm just glad this portion is finally finished. The overall product is great.. it just took way longer than expected and there was not enough communication.

The feedback edit form seemed a little clunky. The most difficult part of the process was creating the video of ourselves. That is an awkward adventure.

The profile was the easiest. Honestly, it would have been helpful if there was a little less communication from so many people. I would have preferred one video with everything I needed to know, and one set of written directions. As we received emails there would be slight variations about the total length of the video or the number of pictures. I found myself constantly comparing what an email said to what I read in the quick start guide. These are just personal preferences. Everyone was very helpful and very quick to respond to emails.

The process was difficult.
I was able to get help when I followed up. However, there were long lags in working with the designer, Mark, and several items that were missed or errors that I had to correct multiple times. His attention to detail and timeliness were somewhat challenging.
Having people with experience create this for me. I am very happy with the final product but it was very painful to get there.

making edits at the end was confusing but it was finally complete. We have not heard back from Joel on our next steps on how we move forward with making our video. We have our videos recorded and I don't know where to share them.
I thought you were all wonderful and did a great job. Towards the end, I was very frustrated that it was so difficult to get in touch with Jeff Diehl. He did not return my emails twice for many days.

The instructions given were clear and it was easy for me to refer back to the emails to see what needed to be done. I had no problem at all uploading photos or writing the text. I also got responses to all emails I sent clarifying any questions. Where I was not as satisfied was the final outcome of our portfolio. The layout we chose to use tweed_9. It is hard to read the text. I looked at other profiles and found them much easier to read. I asked that the text be on a page of its own, but that didnât help. I was hoping that heâd enlarge the text, but he didnât. In fact, I was disappointed to realize that when looking at our book on a phone, the text was on one page and the pictures on another. When you look at it on the computer you see both pages. The reason this was so disappointing to me is the reality is most birth moms are probably going to be viewing the profile books on their phone. I donât fault the creators in this. I think that the format we picked isnât very good and maybe should be eliminated. Itâs just really hard to read the text.
Both the profile text and profile photos were given great feedback and our questions were answered quickly.
We love the video and are appreciative of the team's work on piecing all of our content together so effectively. For the profile book, we are definitely satisfied, but craved slightly more personal assistance and design advice as the book was being developed. We felt like we had to give direction, which was then taken very literally, even though a designer might have been able to help us improve our visual content (the way the writer helped us with the text). Perhaps our expectations might have been set too high at the start, but I think we thought someone might ask us more personal questions (background, goals, etc) and then help to coach us more personally about how to put our best foot forward, rather than just following a generic stepbystep checklist that's applied to everyone. We're still satisfied by the end result, just wanted to share our honest opinion of the process. Thank you!
We were disappointed with the look of the photos initially and Mark worked with us to improve them. He was fantastic! Very helpful as we were worried about this.The only issue we really had was that there was a printing production delay on the first print run.

The process overall was smooth. We had a delay in finalizing the printed profiles, due to changes that we wanted to make, as well as a delay on the production side due to issues that were beyond the team's control. However, the staff overall was accommodating and very helpful.
Working with PF on the narrative was enjoyable. There were communication difficulties with profile book timing. Once the communication was clearer, this process flowed smoothly.

Connor who edited the word portion of our profile was efficient, communicated well and did a great job. Jeff with the video also did a great job. Mark with photos did not answer emails and took 3 weeks to finish the profile. This was extremely frustrating.

The process was extremely frustrating to me. I also found it ridiculous that our online profile was not available for viewing until the profile was finalized.
Kim was great and was so accessible and helpful. We were also thrilled at how quickly our video came together and was completed. Colin was so helpful with our writing as well. We encountered a few software glitches when uploading a few of our pictures but were able to email Mark directly so that the pictures could be used in our profile book.

The writing and having it approved was easiest and most helpful. The photos and creation seemed to take much longer than we expected and I had to keep requesting updates. Not sure on the video aspect as we've recieved no communication beyond that you received the camera back.
The web site has been pretty intuitive. And all in all, this process has not been too complicated.However, one way to make it better would be to condense directions for the entire process into ONE concise video or document. Having directions for every step of the process (pictures, choosing a template, video, contact names, etc.) in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT would make it a lot easier to reference information I needed and would reduce the amount of questions I email ParentFinder staff members. My husband and I been bombarded by a lot of information and paperwork over the course of this process, so anything to streamline things is greatly appreciated.I also think a training video in lieu of the initial phone call might work just as well. I still was not totally clear on things after my phone meeting, so I am not sure it is the best modality of training for all people. As a teacher, I also only get 2 paid personal vacation days a year (the rest have to have legitimate medical excuses or be unpaid). And we have to take our time off in 4 hour increments. So missing work for that 30 minute phone training used 4 hours of valuable time that I will probably need for other steps of my adoption process (such as the home study update visit). A video I could've done in my own time would've been preferred...and then we could have the option of the phone meeting afterwards if we are still unclear (I know different people learn in different ways).All in all, though, I am still satisfied. This is not criticism...just ways to make it even better.

That everyone was so accessible through email and answered questions quickly. Also, we were dealing with a family member who fell ill and passed away during this process and we were we ones not meeting our end of the deadlines but everyone was so kind and patient with us. It meant a lot to not feel pressure or rushed through a tough time.
The email communication was good and overall we had timely responses, and the staff was thorough. Just a tip a helpful response option in this survey would be somewhat as that applies to some. I don't recall a clear timeline for the process, and there was a delay getting finalized. Overall good though. Thank you!

The online explanation of the process was clear and easy to follow. The first person we worked with on the written profile was quick to respond and set up and met deadlines well. It was the actual layout of the profile that took weeks and did not meet articulated deadlines.

Phone call with Kim was great. Colin was super quick with returning our chapters. I thought the proof/layout portion took longer than it should have (especially since it was the same design and some of the same pictures as our prior profile). Our initial contact with Mark was 4/2. Our proof was released 4/13 and then it took another week for the tiny edits to take place. This is frustrating when our home study was ready 2 weeks ago and we were waiting on ParentFinder to finish our profile. Overall, I'm very happy with our profile but feel like our process took longer than it should have, especially with the amount we pay for services. The timeline should be more clear to families.
After finalizing the document, caresolutions team came up with further suggestions for changes. While this is overall appreciated, it would have been better to have all input before finalizing. It was difficult to solicit the writer and rest of the team again and have these additional changes incorporated.
It was truly a pleasure working with Colin and Mark as we created our profile book. Their time and dedication throughout the process was truly appreciated. In 2016, we had the pleasure of working with Colin as we created our first profile book and were blessed with the adoption of our daughter. We submitted our work to be copyedited. When we received it back, there were quite a few changes to the text. Some of the edits changed the meaning and tone of the profile. In at least one instance, the copyeditor inserted a grammatical error that had not previously been in our profile. We ended up changing to whole thing back to the way we originally had it because it would have taken us too long to recopyedit it. It ended up being a waste of our time and money. I would have preferred to have been able to request (and pay for) the copyediting service rather than it being automatically included in the package. It was a frustrating experience.
Most helpful was being able to talk everything out over the phone before getting started. Also helpful was access to others' profiles as examples.
We appreciated the feedback/suggestions from the book editors.

In establishing some ideas with our text/content person, this plan didn't seem to translate once we shifted to our photo person. It was resolved but there seemed to be a disconnect here.Also, for such an important and personal project, identifying the correct person in emails is important. Throughout this process, each email from your company has started with Hi Peter, including the follow up email sent directly after the hour long phone conversation I had when we first started. The phone conversation and every email has been signed by me, Lauren. To continue to have this happen throughout the whole process has not established the experience we were hoping for.
