About Brooke (by Joey)

Brooke was built to be a mom. She has a heart of gold and will do anything for those she loves. After Brooke’s mom had knee surgery last year, Brooke took care of her for three weeks as she recuperated. Brooke’s mom was so appreciative, and I know that they both really enjoyed the mother/daughter time despite the circumstances. Family is extremely important to Brooke.

Brooke is a very creative person. She writes poetry as a way to process her emotions, and her work has been published in a few anthologies and magazines! On one of our first dates, Brooke took me to a poetry slam, where she shared one of her poems aloud. I fell in love with her vulnerability and openness. The child we adopt will grow up encouraged to express themselves and to explore their creative side.

Brooke loves to read and is a lifelong learner. She’s always looking to expand her knowledge of new things, including histories and cultures. She started a book club for her friends, and they’ve been going strong for a couple of years. She is so excited to read stories to the child we adopt.
