About Cody, by Jack
Cody has a major green thumb, and is always planting things in the garden or re-landscaping the yard. I learn so much from him about what grows in certain seasons. Cody knows that my favorite flower is the bird of paradise so one year he bought me a small one to grow. That plant is happily growing in our yard and has tripled in size!
Cody is typically very stoic; however, he LOVES scaring me and playing practical jokes! Once, he put on a scary Halloween mask and hid upstairs before bed. When I went upstairs to go to sleep, Cody jumped out from a dark corner! We both laughed at the scare, and Cody gave me a big hug. The child will grow up in a home where we value fun, laughter, and some practical joking.
Cody is truly a caring human being, and as a social worker, he is super invested in the well-being and health of each family he serves and cares for. His compassion for struggling families is an innate quality that I have never seen in another person. One evening, a parent who was struggling called Cody at a late hour, and Cody made the necessary arrangements and drove her to a clinic to get the help she wanted and needed.
