About Tristan
My passion for music started at a young age – I started playing the piano when I was in the first grade. Now, I mainly play guitar, and once had a blues-rock band that played at local bars. When Rachel and I bought our house in 2021, I built a music room in the basement and made sure there is a guitar handy in nearly every room.
Passionate about fighting injustice, I started law school in 2012, and graduated second in my class in 2015. After law school, I worked for two different federal judges, and spent several years working at a large New York City law firm. Dissatisfied with the work I was doing, I left my job and, at the start of 2023, began working at a small civil rights law firm, and I couldn’t be happier.
If I’m not working or playing music, I like to spend time with friends (including Rachel, of course!). Rachel and I love to go kayaking together, which we can do from a small beach a ten-minute walk from our house. I also like to stay active with projects around the house, including building a rack for our kayaks. I also love to cook, especially in the summertime, when I can grill, and Rachel and I can eat together outside on our patio, sometimes under the soft glow of the patio lights I hung up.
I have a close family, who we get to see for weeks at a time every summer and during the holidays. I am very close with my sister, and Rachel and I both adore our two young nieces.
