Family Traditions

At our house, traditions are incorporated all year long! We have certain holiday traditions that we do every year, and even special traditions for the weekends.

Sunday mornings are typically our big-family breakfast days. Throughout the week we usually have just cereal or toast, but Sunday mornings mean eggs, home-made waffles or pancakes, and all the fixings. Saturday nights are when we attend church, and Sunday mornings we sleep in before enjoying our breakfast feast .

Now when it comes to holidays, there isn’t a decoration that we don’t own! We love to celebrate all of the holidays, and our families join in on it too. Easter is filled with egg coloring, egg hunts, and visiting the Easter Bunny. Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend means a barbecue with family. Fourth of July is also filled with family, barbecues, and fireworks. Halloween includes visits to the pumpkin farm, and trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Thanksgiving is celebrated over two days, one day with Ryan’s family and one day with Jessica’s family. Christmas traditions include visits with Santa, going on a Christmas train ride, and wearing matching pajamas on Christmas Eve followed by cookie decorating.

It seems like each year we keep adding to the list, but each year the memories we make are so special. We look forward to sharing these traditions and memories with another child as our family grows.
