Sam likes to photoshop Andy’s and the kids’ faces onto cartoon characters and pack them as lunch notes.
Before becoming a teacher, Andy was a captain in the army, so we’ve lived all over the country.
Sam was the class valedictorian in both high school and college.
We have an entire closet and multiple hardware organizers dedicated to storing our Legos, as well as a Lego table for building.
Sam has an extensive collection of Potato Heads—more than 50—on display in our living room.
We were both college athletes: Sam ran cross-country at Saint Mary’s, and Andy was on the triathlon team at West Point.
We first said “I love you” to each other over AOL Instant Messenger. This is both incredibly lame and also makes us feel old and outdated. Ha!
We have a “Harry Potter” room in our house filled exclusively with Harry Potter décor.
Andy is 13 inches taller than Sam, which is quite convenient when she has trouble reaching things on the top shelf of the pantry, but not so convenient when they’re slow dancing and she has to strain her neck to look him in the eye.
We have six bookshelves dedicated solely to children’s books (and one for adults): Our family loves to read!
