About Kristen
I was raised in a small college town in New York State. My parents both worked at the local university and education has always played an important role in my life. As an only child, my parents raised me to be a creative, independent, thoughtful person, values that were supported within our local community. I have always found great comfort in small, rural communities and look forward to raising a family in the same type of environment that I grew up in.
Although my parents divorced when I was 12, they always kept my best interest at heart and I feel blessed to have had such strong role models in my life. As we look forward to expanding our family, I have no doubt that I will pass along the same values to my child as my parents did to me.
Today, I work at a university myself, helping students and their families through the admissions process. I feel blessed to build relationships with so many students as they look to continue their education after high school. In many ways I see the work that I do as being similar to the adoption process: we work with families to help them find the right fit, to help them find a place they will call home and where they will be supported by the campus community. Dale and I can’t wait to be that right fit for this child.
