Meet Alex

I was born in Mexico. My parents wanted a better life for my brothers and me, so they moved us to Utah. It was a difficult move at first because of the language barrier. We also lived in humble circumstances to make ends meet. When I look back on my childhood, though, I only have good memories. Plus, I am now bilingual. I use both languages daily and am trying to teach the Spanish language and culture to my daughter.

As a boy, I liked to play in the dirt, work as a team, and create things. As an adult, I luckily do all those things daily in my job as a heavy machine operator. Nature is my office. I have the best view around! I absolutely love it.

Sometimes I come across as a bit shy; however, once you get to know me you’ll find it hard to get me to stop talking. I am very interested in getting to know others and their thoughts and feelings. One question I like to ask is, “If you were an animal, what would you be and why?” My answer is easy: I would be a panda bear because I am curious, lovable, kind-hearted, and playful. Basically, I am a big kid at heart. That is why I love being a dad. I have fun coloring, reading books in my ‘dragon voice’, or playing games.

I am known for my ‘dad jokes’ and one-liners. I try to bring laughter to those around me. I always take it a compliment when people leave our home saying they had a fun time. I love to hear my daughter’s laugh, so I do whatever I can to invite that laughter in our home daily.
