Meet Ashley
From the time I was young, I had two dreams: being a mommy and a teacher. I have always loved kids. As a child I played school with my dolls and stuffed animals. I would teach them for hours and hours. I can remember my dad taking me to the teacher store to get a grade book and stickers for my pretend students. It was always such a special trip with him, he was encouraging me to follow my dreams even at a young age.
I graduated from college with a degree in elementary education and took a job back in my hometown teaching first grade. I taught until our boys were born and then took time off to live my other dream of being a mommy. I stayed home with the boys until they went to kindergarten. At that point we had just lost our baby and I needed something to pour myself into with the boys at school. I was offered an amazing opportunity to teach first grade at our boys school. I have poured my heart and soul back into teaching and it has truly helped me heal.
I absolutely love being both a teacher and a mom. However, once we adopt, I will again step away from the classroom to be a mom. I cannot wait to hold this sweet baby in my arms!
