My Wife, Julie
When I met Julie, she was already working as a registered nurse. She has worked in several areas but enjoys her work in the emergency department at a level one trauma center. Though she is beloved by her patients and co-workers, I’ve always admired her aspirations to someday stay home with children. Julie is fun, creative, and caring, and I know she will shine even brighter when she becomes a mom.
Living with Julie is entertaining, to say the least. She has a joyous personality and frequently cracks jokes and makes herself laugh. I often come home to her singing familiar tunes with her own lyrics attached. Or the time I took her hunting, and instead of camouflaging her face, I turned around, and she had drawn on glasses and a mustache. Even though I shake my head, she’s always making me smile.
Watching Julie interact with children reminds me of what a great mom she’ll be. Whether cleaning up a scraped knee at church camp or giving our niece and nephew face-paintings, she shows her talents for motherhood in many ways. She spent several years volunteering as a youth leader, where the girls loved that she was willing to play games but also be a listening ear when they shared their feelings. She knows when it’s time for fun and time for seriousness. I cannot wait to watch her step into motherhood.
