Our Daughter, Charlie

Charlie is the light of our life and the most extroverted personality in the family, always down for a spontaneous dance party or an adventure. She lovesssss music. Her current favorites are “Cotton Eye Joe” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” (from Mary Poppins), but her tried-and-true favorites are “Do Lord” by Johnny Cash and “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston.

She is incredibly smart, self-motivated, and VERY active. From the moment her eyes open, until the second she passes out, she is full throttle. About the only thing that gets her to sit still are books. Charlie inherited her mommy’s love of reading and will listen to someone reading for hours. She’s got her daddy’s sense of humor and is often doing something to grab attention or make someone laugh.

Charlie is tenderhearted and empathetic, often initiating prayers for those who need healing. She has a sweet relationship with Jesus which gives us more joy than anything. Watching her play independently as she pretends to be Bible characters, or hearing the words “Thank you, Jesus” uttered from her tiny mouth, encourages us that she is catching the love of Christ.

We know that Charlie will be the BEST big sister. She loves babies and will tell you she wants “a brother and a sister”. She is excited about the opportunity to have a sibling that “comes from another mama’s belly” and we cannot wait to see this come to reality.
