Our Family

Our family is a fine blend of city (Heather) and country (Doug).  We were both raised in loving, two-parent homes around our siblings, cousins, uncles, and aunts. We’re thankful that most everybody still lives nearby! Growing up, our cousins were our best friends, and in Heather’s family, we continue to spend our holidays with them, laughing and eating together. There’s about 35 of us…and growing! 

We often host family gatherings at our home. Each family attending brings an appetizer, dessert, or side dish. With many gifted cooks and bakers among us, we always make extra food as we like to send leftovers home with each family!

Doug’s immediate family is quite large. He has five siblings, all of whom are married with children. We see them regularly for holidays, birthdays, and time spent at his family’s recreational property, which we fondly call ‘the cabin.”

In addition to our “human family,” we share a special love for our three little non-shedding, four-legged family members: Ginger, Bella and Lady. They are great with children, loving and their daily antics of fetching, chasing, and wrestling each other bring us much joy and laughter. 

We are so blessed to have families that all get along, support and love each other. Each new addition is welcomed, loved and cherished.
